Frequently asked questions

FAQ.

The questions we receive most often, from developers, investors and landowners: marketplace, qualified origination, confidentiality and the contracting entity. If your question is not here, write to us.

Marketplace

  • What is Solmeria ?

Solmeria combines an international marketplace of solar and storage projects, from secured project rights to operating assets, and qualified origination in France and Italy for developer clients.

  • What projects can be bought or sold on the marketplace ?

Solmeria lets qualified professionals buy or sell solar and storage projects: ground-mount PV, AgriPV, BESS, self-consumption / C&I and hybrid PV plus storage projects, offered by verified sellers. Aggregated statistics are openly accessible; project details follow validation.

  • At what stage are projects accepted ?

From secured to operating: secured land, planning submitted, permit granted, ready-to-build and operating assets. The marketplace covers projects from securing through to the operating asset.

  • Can I sell land or an unsecured opportunity on the marketplace ?

No. Unsecured land, greenfield opportunities, sites still to qualify and upstream land belong to Solmeria origination. The marketplace is reserved for projects that have reached at least one securing stage.

  • Which countries ?

The marketplace is international from launch.

  • How much does it cost for buyers ?

Access to aggregated statistics is free and requires no registration. Access to full files requires a verified access request, qualified within 48 business hours.

  • How does the seller success fee work ?

No subscription, no fixed fees. Solmeria is compensated on the flows actually received by the seller. The terms are contractualised before any distribution and adapt to the size of the file.

  • Does Solmeria guarantee a sale or a price ?

No. Solmeria does not guarantee price, sale or liquidity and does not provide financial advice. We create the conditions for a qualified introduction with the most relevant buyers for their criteria.

Qualified origination

  • What is a prequalified opportunity ?

An opportunity (site or lead) sourced and qualified by Solmeria to your developer criteria, upstream of securing.

  • Which countries ?

    France and Italy are live.

  • Which technologies ?

    Ground-mount PV, AgriPV, BESS and self-consumption / C&I.

  • How do I submit my criteria ?

Through the "Describe my criteria" form or a 30 minute call: technology, areas, stage, size. We qualify, then transmit the matching opportunities.

  • How is origination different from the marketplace ?

The marketplace concerns projects that are already secured or more advanced, bought or sold project by project. Origination concerns prequalified opportunities upstream, sourced for developer clients.

Confidentiality / NDA

  • When is an NDA required ?

Before the technical documents and the precise identity of a project are shared. The NDA is sent via PandaDoc.

  • What information is visible before validation ?

Only aggregated, anonymised information (technology, stage, region, order of magnitude). Contacts and documents are reserved for validated accounts under NDA.

  • How are projects protected ?

Every request is reviewed by the Solmeria team. Details do not circulate beyond validated parties, and distribution is governed by agreement.

Landowners: service and revenue

  • How much does the service cost ?

The service is 100% free for landowners, with no commitment. Studies and installation are covered by the developer; we are compensated by the developer alone.

  • What investment is required from me ?

None. Studies, equipment, installation and maintenance are entirely financed by the partner developer.

  • What revenue can I expect ?

It depends on sunshine, usable area and distance to grid connection. A free study gives you an estimate specific to your site.

  • When am I paid ?

The first rents are generally paid when construction of the plant begins, around two to three years after the project starts.

  • Can I withdraw ?

Yes, at any time before signing, with no fees and no commitment.

Landowners: is my land eligible ?

  • How do I know if my land is eligible ?

Several criteria come into play: area, slope, orientation, current use, proximity to the grid and local constraints. Our engineers assess your site for free and tell you honestly whether there is a project.

  • Can degraded or polluted land work ?

Yes, and it is often ideal: former quarries, brownfields, polluted or abandoned soils are a priority for ground-mounted solar.

  • What about fallow land ?

Yes. Unused or fallow land can host a project and regain value.

  • Can a forest be cleared for solar ?

No. We are opposed to deforestation. Solar is only considered on land that is already open or degraded.

  • What about a small plot ?

Even under one hectare, if it is close to the grid, it can host a storage battery or a micro solar project.

Landowners: the project and the land

  • How long does a project take ?

Allow two to three years for a standard ground-mount park (studies, permits, grid connection, construction). Micro projects and storage often come out in 12 to 18 months.

  • Is a solar plant discreet ?

The installation covers about a third of the area, at a height of 2 to 3 metres. Landscaped hedges can be planted to help integration.

  • How many developers will contact me ?

At most three partner developers, selected from more than 80 based on relevance to your land.

  • Can I continue my farming activity ?

Yes, this is the principle of agrivoltaics: grazing under the panels, protected crops, controlled shading. The farming activity remains the priority.

  • What happens to the land at the end of the lease ?

Dismantling and restoration of the land are planned and provisioned in the contract from the outset.

Landowners: rooftops, car parks and other sites

  • I have a large roof or a shed ?

Your roof can produce electricity, in self-consumption to cut your bill, or under lease to earn rent.

  • I have a car park ?

Photovoltaic canopies shelter vehicles and generate revenue, while meeting the obligation set by the APER law for large car parks.

  • Can I sell my land on the marketplace ?

No. A landowner is not a marketplace seller. Land or a site offered by an owner feeds the origination process; the marketplace concerns already-secured or developing projects.
